DABBING

What is dabbing?

Dabbing is a super potent version of smoking that uses concentrates such as wax, oil, shatter, and budder. Typically, dabs are taken by vaporizing these concentrates on incredibly hot surfaces and then inhaling the vapors through a dab rig. Dabbing is an incredibly efficient way of smoking as the concentrates used have a much higher percentage of cannabinoids than the conventional flower.

Because the concentrates are so pure, the results are fast-acting and the vapor itself is flavorful and has a deep aroma. So what are the different kinds of concentrates?

Budder: Refers to a wax derivative that results in a moisture-rich, “gooey” product.

Crumble: Refers to a wax derivative that is less wet than budder, and has a matte appearance.

Crystalline: Refers to the purest form of concentrate, and like the name probably gives away, looks like little crystals.

Shatter: Refers to an oil derivative that results in a brittle and glossy product.

Sauce: Refers to a sticky, semi-liquid concentrate that boasts high levels of terpenes.

It may be easy to get confused when wading through all of these different terms, so it is important to note that these descriptors simply signify the appearance, texture, malleability, and color of the concentrate and not necessarily the purity. Meaning: these products are all more or less the same and will produce similar results, their categorization simply has to do with consistency and not quality.

What is a dab rig?

dab rig, sometimes called an oil rig, is a smoking device very similar to a bong that is used to vaporize and then inhale different kinds of concentrates. Dab rigs come in all shapes in sizes, from cheap dab rigs that are virtually nothing more than a water pipe and a nail to high-tech electric dab rigs that use currents to heat up your nail for you- no dab torch needed!

There are many types of dab rigs, and each kind of rig works differently.

  • Electric dab rigs: These high-tech rigs come with an e-nail that heats itself up to the ideal temperature using electric currents, making all your hits as easy and smooth as possible.
  • Glass dab rigs: Glass dab rigs are the most commonly used rigs, and can come in multiple shapes, sizes, and designs.
  • Silicone dab rigs: Silicone dab rigs are perfect for accident-prone smokers, as they are made from an incredibly forgiving material and are sure to last their owner a lifetime.
  • Cylinder dab rigs: Cylinder dab rigs are reminiscent of a classic water pipe, and they can be dressed up (or down) with as many chambers, percolators, and other extras as you would like.
  • Recycler dab rigs: These dab rigs are named after the style of percolator that is inside them. This type of dab rig is fitted with multiple tubings that connect two water chambers so that, when the user inhales, the vaporized concentrate can travel through the tubes in unison with the water, and then allows the water to “recycle” back into its original chamber.
  • Percolator dab rigs: Recyclers are just one kind of percolator, but in general, percolators act as a filter for your bong. Percolators, whether in the shape of a waffle, shower head, tree, pineapple, honeycomb, mushroom, or really any other kind, work by increasing the smoke to water ratio, resulting in a smoke that is much cooler and easier to inhale.
  • Mini dab rigs: these small, portable dab rigs work just as well as their larger counterparts, but are more travel-friendly. Plus they can easily be stored away for discretion and safekeeping.

With all of these options, you may be wondering what is the best dab rig for you. The answer comes down to what you’re looking for in your next smoke sesh. If it’s an easy, hands-off kind of session, then looking into an electric dab rig may be your best route. If you are looking for something cheap and portable, a mini rig won’t disappoint. And if you are wanting the classic look and feel of a bong or water pipe, you can’t go wrong with a cylinder dab rig- as high tech or low-fuss as you want it!

Why use a dab mat?

At V Syndicate we offer Hybrid Rolling Trays that come with their own dab mat so that you never have to worry about going through the hassle of cleaning up hard-to-scrub residue. Our silicone dab mats are food grade and heat resistant, making them safe to put your oil or wax directly on top of. These non-stick dab mats are perfect for handling your concentrate without getting it stuck on any tables or dishware, and you can clean the dab mat by simply wiping it down with some soap and water.

We also just released a collection of full-size, large silicone dab mats! These big dab mats feature both striking color and powerful heat resistance, a combination that is hard to come by and even harder to create, but our team of designers and engineers knew the effort would dab-finitely be worth it.

What dabbing accessories do you sell?

Hybrid Trays: Take the familiar feel of a classic metal tray, and slap a removable silicone mat onto it, and you get a Hybrid Rollin' Tray!

SlikksOur Slikks are the best dab mats on the market! They feature a non-stick design and are printed in full color and high resolution for a statement-making sesh.
